Analysis and Review of Bahram Sadeghi’s Works

In the opening section of the book, the biography of Bahram Sadeghi is presented, followed by a list of his short stories and unpublished writings. The main part of the book is a critique and analysis of Sadeghi’s stories, which include: ‘The Trench and the Empty Canteens,’ ‘Kingdom,’ ‘Address: City “T”‘ and ‘Jojo Jetso.’ Another section examines Sadeghi’s use of satire, followed by the views of several writers (Gholamhossein Saedi, Nader Ebrahimi, Hossein Mirabedini, Azar Nafisi, and Kamran Bozorgnia) about Sadeghi and his works. The final section includes three short stories by Bahram Sadeghi: ‘Bewildered Tangle,’ ‘A Sad Song for a Moonless Night,’ and ‘Address: City “T”‘, ‘Enshad Street, House Number 555.’ The author notes in one part of the book: ‘Sadeghi is among those writers who hold a nihilistic worldview. This pessimistic perspective, in which the writer maintains the same level of thought intensity from beginning to end and even intensifies it, is always dangerous for the thinker. The destructive power of such a viewpoint, at a minimum, leads to suicide, which was the fate of three famous Iranian writers, Hedayat, Chubak, and Sadeghi, serving as clear proof of this truth. Sadeghi, in this context, can be said to have experienced the dual consequences of this worldview without having apparently committed suicide.’
