Catherine Helen Sents, mother of Albert Camus, the renowned French writer and 1957 Nobel Prize winner, suffered from a language disorder, yet how did she manage to teach her child language? Albert Einstein, who was labeled as “slow-witted” due to a disorder, was able to reach his high scientific status. “Albert’s Mother Had a Strange Silence” discusses language disorder, teaching us that regardless of abilities and disabilities, based on the views of researchers in education, we find that a child is an active being and social interaction always exists between the child and those around them.
