About You

The Book About You: A Collection of Quatrains, the sixth independent poetry collection by Milad Erfanpour, consists of more than 60 quatrains. This work is rooted in the genre of quatrain and encompasses diverse themes, yet it is divided into several chapters based on the shared atmosphere of certain poems. This book has been published by the poet in five sections with the titles: “Blooming of Tears in the Throat of Two or Three Clouds,” “Do You Remember That Love Letter,” “The Collective Loneliness of People,” “What Do You Know of Life, Death,” and “Lend a Hand to the Farther Branch.” The audience of Erfanpour’s poetry is not the “you” of today’s Iranian Muslim or the abstract, universal “you,” but rather “you” as a human being—both abstract and concrete, both earthly and heavenly, both external and internal. When he speaks to the here-and-now human, his poetry takes on the hue of social poetry; and when he addresses the timeless and placeless human, his poetry resonates with the melody of mystical poetry. This is why “About You” is a book about me and about you!
