Sherlock Holmes and Caesar

The book “Sherlock Holmes and Caesar (Signed Edition)” written by Ebrahim Raha and published by Noon Publishing. Ebrahim Raha explains about his new book: The events take place in the 1970s Tehran; in fact, Sherlock Holmes in London at the end of the 19th century gets involved with black magic and then travels to the era of Ferdowsi’s Tehran in the early 20th century. This change in time and place takes Holmes 70-80 years back and to another country with a unique culture and climate. The encounter of Holmes and Dr. Watson with the ethical and social behaviors of Iranians, which seem unchanged over decades, brings an interesting humor. Raha, referring to the public’s interest in the program “Time Tunnel” (a satellite TV program about Iran in the 1970s), explains: in this series, I addressed social, political, and cultural issues of Iranian society in the early 1970s from a humorous and critical perspective. In fact, this book reflects my thinking and viewpoint with the same concerns and interests I have in social, political, and cultural criticism.
