What Boys Should Know

Puberty in boys occurs later than in girls and typically happens between the ages of ten and sixteen. The pace of puberty is also slower in boys compared to girls, which is why the puberty period and the completion of its signs take longer in boys. In boys, the pituitary gland located at the base of the brain begins to secrete hormones that stimulate the testes to produce male sex hormones, namely testosterone.
