Zahra Abdi

Zahra Abdi is a young Iranian poet and writer who entered the world of fiction with her novel “The Day of the Snail.” Holding degrees in Persian literature and religious studies, she has devoted her life to literature and words. Initially recognized as a poet, she published several poetry collections including “Shahrzad” and “You Have Danced Heavier Than a Bear on a Mountain.” Her passion for thoughtful, idea-driven texts and poetry laid the foundation for her transition into storytelling. “The Day of the Snail,” developed during a novel workshop by Mohammad Hassan Shahsavari, gained the attention of many Persian literature enthusiasts. The story is rich with references to famous films and influential actors, showcasing the breadth of Abdi’s knowledge and inviting readers to broaden their understanding by connecting it with other works. Following her debut, Abdi pursued novel writing with dedication, describing it as “the ultimate joy and pleasure of writing.” She crafts her stories with a careful balance of language, thought, and suspense, striving to reveal the hidden details of life often overlooked by others.
