Mohammad Estelami
Mohammad Estelami was a distinguished scholar and literary figure renowned for his profound studies on Rumi and Hafez. Born in Arak, he devoted his life to Persian literature, earning acclaim through his meticulous editing of Attar Nishapuri’s Tadhkirat al-Awliya, which has seen numerous reprints. Estelami’s seven-volume commentary on Rumi’s Masnavi and his two-volume analysis of Hafez’s ghazals exhibit his deep literary insight and earned him significant recognition. Having taught Persian literature at the University of Tehran and later at McGill University, his scholarship is marked by a blend of erudition and devotion that continues to inspire readers and students of Persian mysticism and poetry.
