Mohammad Ali Naqib Al-Mamalek

Mohammad Ali Naqib Al-Mamalek was a master storyteller during the era of Naser al-Din Shah. Chosen by the Qajar king for his gift of narration, he was entrusted with the special task of entertaining the monarch with captivating tales during afternoon rests and evenings before sleep, often accompanied by the haunting melodies of the kamancheh. His storytelling earned him the honorary title ‘Naqib Al-Mamalek,’ and he shared legendary stories such as Amir Arsalan, Malek Jamshid, and Zarrin Malek, enchanting the royal court with his voice and presence.
