Kazem Sadat Ashkouri

Kazem Sadat Ashkouri, born in the village of Naren-e Ashkoor, believes that the nature of childhood profoundly shapes a person’s future character. Influenced by the natural surroundings of his upbringing, he regards himself as a nature-focused artist, finding a special connection to the phenomena of the natural world. His early poems appeared alongside those of Javad Mojabi in local Qazvin newspapers, while his first piece was published in the renowned literary magazine Ashena under editor Ahmad Shamlou. This pivotal encounter with Shamlou opened new poetic horizons for him. Later, leaving a banking career behind for a life devoted to art and literature, Kazem pursued studies in human and economic geography and contributed to the influential magazine Khosheh. Throughout his career, he engaged with many prominent literary journals and developed notable research in anthropology. His work reflects a deep intertwining of Iranian literary tradition and the living landscape around him, capturing the spirit of a rich cultural history.
