Fereydoon Moshiri

Fereydoon Moshiri was born in Tehran, where his early surroundings were enriched by a family deeply connected to literature and poetry. Influenced by his mother’s poetic interests, he embraced the world of words from a young age. Moshiri immersed himself in journalism and literary pursuits, eventually studying Persian literature at the University of Tehran, though his professional commitments in media often interrupted his formal education. He began composing poetry in his teens, and his debut collection, “Thirsty Storm,” marked the emergence of a distinctive poetic voice enriched with sensitivity and passion. His famous poem “Koocheh” (The Alley) is celebrated as one of the most beautiful and heartfelt works in modern Persian poetry. Moshiri also brought his verses to life through recitations, bridging the intimacy of his poetry with public performance.
