Amirhoshang Anvari is a historian specializing in Islamic Iran, a journalist, and the research director of ritual sites at the Iranology Foundation. He has also collaborated with the Iranian Academy of Sciences on the preparation of the six-volume Encyclopedia of Iranian Sciences.
