Ahmad Samiei

Ahmad Samiei Gilani, born in Tehran into a Gilani family, was a distinguished Iranian translator and writer, as well as a permanent member of the Academy of Persian Language and Literature. Having pursued his early education in Rasht and advanced studies in linguistics at the University of Tehran, Samiei dedicated much of his life to editing and literary scholarship. His editorial work at the Franklin Publishing Institute was complemented by his authorship of several books on writing and editing, alongside significant articles published in various literary magazines. Beginning his translation career with George Sand’s novel, he later brought the works of prominent authors such as Georges Perk and Gustave Flaubert into Persian. Until shortly before his passing, he served as the editor-in-chief of the Academy’s journal, nurturing Persian literary culture with profound dedication.
