This work, resulting from research conducted at the Institute for Culture, Art and Communication Studies, aims to provide a relatively comprehensive historical account of “national surveys” in Iran after the revolution, as well as to document the experiences of many individuals influential in these surveys. Consequently, this study includes interviews with nearly all creators of the national surveys, some organizational managers commissioning the surveys, and also scientific observers or consultants of the national surveys. To complete the critical analysis of these surveys, eleven analytical/critical texts about each important national survey have been written in the form of “monographs” by several researchers, which are included in the appendix of this book. These texts contain information about the overall survey under review and the topics measured in that survey.
