The Beauty of the Sun and the Sun of Every Gaze
Authors:
This is a ten-volume encyclopedia that interprets Hafez’s ghazals using the method of interpreting Hafez by Hafez, drawing upon relevant Quranic verses, narrations, and prayers, and avoiding literary and mystical jargon. It explains Hafez’s poems from the perspective of monotheistic teachings, unveiling the intentions and references of the Shirazi master, so that readers can appreciate the subtlety and profound meanings of Hafez’s poetry through the clear mirror of the Quran and Hadiths. This work is derived from private spiritual ethics sessions held by Allameh Tabatabaei, from which the author benefited for many years. The late Allameh Tabatabaei briefly and sometimes in detail explained about two hundred ghazals from Hafez’s Divan during these sessions, and the author recorded Allameh’s words. The continuation of the ghazals is also explained in the same manner, resulting in this ten-volume encyclopedia.
