Women in Story

In the contemporary era, with the entry of women into the realm of literary creativity, a new type of storytelling emerged with women as the creators of its heroines. The study of female character development in the works of women writers is an engaging topic addressed in the criticism of “The Authenticity of Women.” In this book, the author examines the stories of four Iranian women writers (Simin Daneshvar, Mahshid Amirshahi, Shahrnush Parsipur, and Ghazaleh Alizadeh), explaining their methods of character development, especially in creating female protagonists. It also demonstrates where female protagonists in women’s works stand in comparison to those in men’s works with respect to the borders of rationality, emotion, or a blend of both aspects.
