The book *Mashi and Mashiane* written by Mohammad Mohammad-Ali has been published by Tandis Bookstore Publishing House. The narrators of the triad of stories titled *The First Day of Love* are women who lived alongside great men but have remained unnoticed until now. This is because, beside every great and god-like man, there has been a woman of his stature and character, a unique lover in her own right, akin to the legends, myths, and stories we have read so far. *Mashi and Mashiane*, the second part of *The First Day of Love* trilogy, recounts the story of the creation of the first man and woman in Iranian mythology. In this work, alongside narrating the myth of mankind’s creation, the confrontation of Ahriman and Keyumars—the first human—and his sorrowful death in solitude and the resurrection of Mashi and Mashiane from his seed, Mohammad-Ali presents a highly captivating and romantic narration of cosmology and the Iranian perspective on the universe and creation. Mohammad Mohammad-Ali is one of the renowned authors of contemporary Iranian fiction who, through his precise character depictions, cinematic atmospheres, and the creation of suspenseful spaces that permeate all his novels, has drawn the audience of contemporary literature to his works. Mohammad-Ali is a contemporary writer, a writer who lives in his own time and era, reflecting the pains, joys, and concerns of his people in literary form.
